I am not into Minecraft or Terreria or most of the zombie base building games. However, this game is different because (in its current state) you just build stuff that actually looks pretty good. You don't need to grind for materials to build. Your imagination and building blocks are the only limitation. Building something is mostly enjoyable and not too difficult. However, there are certain game issues that are holding the joy of building stuff back (and also destroying stuff). First and foremost, the tutorial needs to be better to teach you how to at least build simple things. Also, there's several missing tools to properly build stuff. You can't cut stuff in the dimensions you want. A big building block is the size it is and there's no room for resizing or cutting (at least I didn't find out how to do this). The terrain in not level and I didn't find a way to fix it (try building on uneven ground). The shovel tool really didn't help in fixing the issues. You can cut logs with an axe into smaller predetermined sizes untiil it is destroyed. The same goes for the big blocks, you can axe them and they destroy (versus being cut the way you want).There's currently no doors. Of course, you can put a different type of wood block and then put a small wood block on it to make it look like a door, but it still won't open and close like a door should. If you plan to put a window you have to properly put smaller size woods around it next to the bigger wood block pieces. You can't just put the window on a big block of wood and have it showing (it'll disappear within the big piece of wood block). You can't really decorate the place the way you want. There's only a few set pieces. Just overall, the game is currently missing a lot of rudimentary things to build a proper house. Still, I enjoyed making a simple house even if it has obvious flaws. Given the EA sale price, I do recommend. I hope the developer updates the game so that I can give it a higer rating. Obviously, the survival and story aspect could be game changers so I will probably update this review in the future. It was nice and relaxing. As one who is suffering from cancer and chemotherapy, relaxation and getting away from it all is what I seek often. Fatigue keeps me from doing much adventuring or action games.With that said, I have only three requests at this time for the developer. They probably already have these in mind but just in case:The ability to delete an object. There might be a way but I haven't found it. I put the wrong window type in and couldn't get rid of it, so I just placed it out of the way.Windows that you can see through without the blurriness. I was building a small cabin on a hill overlooking the ocean and the window panes are blurry.Lastly, a way to save the island so that we can come back and work on our construction some more.If some of these have been addressed, I apologize in advance. I enjoy just wandering around and exploring too so the game is well worth the cost for me.. Maybe in time the game will add more, but unless this is really your thing or you want to support the development, I can't recommend it in its current state.. the controls suck, and the survival doesnt exist..
